About

Steeped in mythology and natural beauty, few places are better suited for reconnecting with nature than Slieve Gullion in County Armagh.

Playing an important role in the legends of both Finn MacCool and Cú Chulainn, it’s easy to see how you’ll feel a deep connection to the mythological sleeping giant of Slieve Gullion. Meditation Coach Ann Ward, your Forest Bathing Guide on this unique experience, knows this better than anyone, she inherited her love of Slieve Gullion from her mother who was born on the volcanic mountain itself.

Xhale, creates immersive experience using the gifts of nature and meditation. You will feel rested and re-energised during this restorative experience. With more than 20 years’ meditation experience, Ann is the perfect guide to support you in awakening your senses and in deepening your reconnection with nature.

Forest Bathing is just one of the experiences Ann offers, and a proven way to relieve stress and boost your immunity. Bathe through your senses in the forest environment, letting the sounds of nature nurture you, breathe in the rich smells of bark, and allow sun-dappled leaves above wash over you. Originating from Japan, each session of “Shinrin-yoku” as it’s also known ends with a customary Japanese tea ceremony made with foraged elderberry cordial and home-made shortbread for you to enjoy.

Ann’s creative healing space in nearby Meigh village is as cosy as it’s unconventional, a quirky, Second World War hut! Relax and continue to awaken you senses over a locally produced, sensory, seasonal three-course lunch. Recipes for the spring green soup & wheaten bread are available to take home. After lunch we will explore how you can bring the practice of forest bathing/nature connection into your everyday life. We gently end the day with a guided meditation, taking the gift of mindfulness home with you.
