Since work began on the Mourne Gullion Strangford Geopark, education has been at the very heart of its development. As an initial introduction to the Geopark concept and to the local geology, landscape formation and historical and archaeological heritage, workshops were delivered to 70 primary schools and 19 secondary schools in the proposed Geopark area and the immediate surrounding area.

Around 3,604 children and young people have attended these workshops to date. More specific educational resources have also been delivered.
