Volcanic Adventures in the Ring of Gullion 

Set in the Ring of Gullion Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Gullion Adventures offers a range of climbing and mountaineering experiences, with a focus on the links between the local landscape and folklore. 

Scale the volcanic slopes of Slieve Gullion, which is peaked by a small lake and two small burial chambers with strong associations with the Irish giant, Finn MacCool. Gullion Adventures offer experiences for individuals, families, groups. 

Indoor and Outdoor Climbing with Geology Rocks 

Set on the slopes of the Mournes, just outside of Newry, Geology Rocks Adventure Tourism is the brainchild of James Rafferty, an experienced mountaineer and earth scientist. With indoor, outdoor and multi-day climbing experiences, Geology Rocks is ideally suited for all ability levels. 

The team are also at the forefront of the Mourne Mountains & Ring of Gullion’s geotourism movement. The local mountains are an area of exceptionally rich geological activity.
