This is an exciting opportunity for you to immerse yourself in the rhythm of Djembe drumming and of nature, finding the flow! This hour long workshop will be delivered by master drummer Jimmy Haggan in the ancient Celtic Iron age round house.

Jimmy uses phonetics to help build up rhythms and techniques. Here you will learn different polyrhythm's to play West African pieces. A short performance will be held at the end of the workshop.

Jimmy's interest in African drumming began during his time in the USA, studying under Guinean Djembe Masters of Chicago Drumming Community. In 2002, after returning home to Ireland Jimmy continued his musical education specalising in the pedagogy of Drumming. With over fifteen years teaching experience African drumming in various settings such as, large and small groups, one to one, and special needs groups, Jimmy has become one of the most sought after professionals in his field. Jimmy travels around Ireland and the UK giving Master classes and Workshops in drumming while also working with the Education Authority Northern Ireland teaching African, Samba and Tuned percussion.
