The Fews Ensemble
Hamilton Harty's piano Quintet was written in 1904 and remained unperformed in this country until 2023 when the Fews Ensemble unearthed it and brought it to life. A stunningly romantic and nostalgic work which deserves to be heard far and wide. The immensely talented Brian Connor arranged three gorgeous folk songs from the north or Ireland for the Fews Ensemble during lockdown. The hauntingly beautiful Month of January sits side by side with My Lagan Love and is complimented by a fantastically original take on the Star of the County Down. Faure's rarely heard La Bonne Chanson for strings, piano and Soprano completes this spell binding programme.
