Clive Carroll plays the Music of John Renbourn

The Rostrevor Inn, 33-35 Bridge Street, Rostrevor, Newry, Co Down, BT34 3BG
Clive Carroll

About

'Probably the best and most original acoustic guitarist/composer in Britain.' - Acoustic Guitar Magazine USA.

"...arguably the most accomplished fingerstylist in the world today..." - Total Guitar Magazine

We are delighted to welcome back master guitarist Clive Carroll, who last played the Folk Club with his wife, harpist Lily Neill. He is joined by special guest Dariush Kanani, another hugely acclaimed guitarist who has worked with Stefan Grossman and is a devotee of Renbourn's Pentangle colleague, Bert Jansch.

This very special one-off tour celebrates the release of Clive's new double-album, 'The Abbot', which features the music of acoustic guitar legend and founding member of Pentangle, John Renbourn (1944-2015). A chance meeting with Renbourn proved the catalyst for Clive's debut album, "Sixth Sense", which Renbourn deemed "a milestone in the journey of the steel-string guitar". He subsequently took Clive on the road with him and the pair toured North America and Europe together, launching Clive's solo performing career.
