The Good Craic Guide to the Mournes is a free booklet sharing loads of hidden gems in the Mourne area. As an Australian who has made the Mournes my home I love sharing the wonderful places and people that I've discovered here.
Whether you fancy trying archery or rock climbing, hearing great music or going for a scenic drive I've shared my favourite suggestions all in one handy spot.
Mourne Archery, Maghera
One of my favourites right now is Mourne Archery in Maghera over near Newcastle. I can’t recommend them more highly. Katy is a whizz at taking you through the safety stuff and getting you all started. She can work with groups of all sizes and abilities.
Once everyone is comfortable with the basics, she introduces challenges such as shooting at balloons or playing tic tac toe. She offers pointers to improve your technique. It’s not expensive but it is by appointment only so why not make your booking now? It is wonderful for visitors and locals alike.
It’s inside a big barn so a great idea for rainy days. If you want a free copy of my guide pop in Good Craic Gifts, Church St Rostrevor and grab one. I have loads of other good ideas to share with you to make your time here extra special.
