July is national ice cream month and we’ve got the whole month to celebrate, so we’re on a mission to spread the word about our wonderful artisan ice cream producers in Mourne, Gullion and Strangford.
Whether you prefer Italian-style gelato, chocolate sundae’s, tub or cone with all the trimmings or just simply vanilla, whichever is your favourite, your taste buds will be tingling and what better way to kick off the summer.

Brennans in Seaforde and Dundrum produce their famous mouth watering vanilla flavour and will bring their delicious ice cream mobile truck to events around the area.
Graham’s is a County Down institution with our favourite outlet nestled in Newcastle’s Main Street. It offers a wide range of artisan flavours, including their traditional vanilla which is delicious.
Specialising in Handcrafted Artisan Italian Style Ice cream Lick Gelato have quickly become one of the most Nationally recognised ice cream producers in the whole of the U.K and Ireland receiving awards of the highest accolade from the Ice cream Alliance including Several Gold Medals and Silver Medals for ice cream flavours.
The Morelli family name is synonymous with Ice Cream, with branches across Northern Ireland including Newcastle, their rich dairy ingredients are created using milk from cows that graze in the lush green fields.
Another favourite is Bu Icecream, Newcastle with rich creamy flavours like Coconut, Newcastle Rock, and Raspberry Lavender, you’ll always find something new to try.
Nugelato Ice Cream Boutique, opened in Newcastle in 2015, and since have opened five more boutiques across Northern Ireland. Once you step inside, you’re hit with the aroma of beautiful Gelato, they also have a chocolate Nutella tap, and every topping you could ever imagine including favours like Honeycomb and Bubblegum. They are renowned for their Sundaes, Nuggy Pots and Brrr-ito.
Timoney’s Ice Cream, Newry and Warrenpoint have been open over 80 years and are famous for their home made vanilla flavour ice cream, but if you want to add something there’s a wide selection of toppings and sauces to tempt you.
Mauds ice cream have outlets in Ballynahinch, Kilkeel, Newcastle and Newry and have become very experimental with flavours such as Poo Bear, Blue Surf and Irish Atlantic Sea Salted Caramel to name a few but are they as popular as the old favourites... whats your choice ?
