Apt 2 Narrow Water Castle, 67 Newry Road, Newry, Down, BT34 3LE
Narrow Water Castle Self Catering Accommodation

About

Narrow Water Castle is the private home of the Hall family who have lived here since 1670, originally in the Old Narrow Water Keep which is now a national monument.

In 1816 construction began on the new Elizabethan Revival style Castle by Thomas Duff, a well-known Newry architect who also designed the Cathedrals in Newry, Armagh and Dundalk. The Elizabethan Revival Style Castle was built next to the existing home, Mount Hall (1680) and completed in 1836.

This self catering apartment is in the original hub of the castle (Mount Hall).

The apartment opens into an elegant open plan, living room and dining room with open fire. We have used several antique pieces of furniture to hint of times gone by. We are happy to provide logs if our guests wish to use the fire.
There are two spacious, beautifully furnished bedrooms, one of which is en-suite. The bedrooms can be configured as either, 1 kingsize bed and 1 super-king bed or, 1 kingsize bed and 2 single beds. We use luxurious linens and have a choice of either Hungarian White down pillows or a quality boutique pillow. We have chosen to provide our guests with excellent mattresses to ensure they get a great nights sleep.
The main bathroom features a free standing double slipper bath on Moroccan handcrafted encaustic tiles, setting an air of romance. The en-suite bathroom has a spacious double shower cubicle, with high spec electric shower.
The kitchen is equipped with modern conveniences, crockery, glassware, pots, pans and utensils. There is also an outdoor dining area is set up with stunning views of the castle, Carlingford Lough and the Cooley Mountains.

There is level entry throughout, 2 steps at front and 2 at back. A ramp can be provided on request.

If our guests wish to explore the estate, they can stroll through the landscaped gardens or walk to the forest in search of the hidden castle. There is an equestrian centre within the estate and a golf course within walking distance.
