The Shamrock Express

About

SOLD OUT

As part of the town’s St. Patrick’s celebrations, the Shamrock Express returns to Downpatrick this St Patrick’s Day, in conjunction with and supported by Newry Mourne and Down District Council. For the unbeatable fare of just £3, we are offering a train ride on our heritage ‘Derry Girls’ diesel train, with traditional music on board and Irish dancing on arrival at Inch Abbey.

Places are strictly limited, so we strongly advise advance booking, with fares like these they’re sure to sell out fast.

It’s only a short walk from our station to the Cistercian monastery of Inch Abbey, where you can explore the historic ruins – and imagine you are in Game of Thrones too!

Our carriage gallery and museum will be open, where you can see everything from carriages and locomotives to old tickets and timetables. Hot drinks and nibbles are on sale in the buffet train at Inch Abbey.
