About

Busy weekend line-up in Hilltown

All roads lead to Hilltown this weekend with another busy line up of "The Gathering", Hilltown's first Storytelling Festival.

Organisers of the festival, Hilltown Community Association, are excited at having Ardboe storyteller, Patsy O'Hagan, visiting Hilltown to share some stories from his Bard of Armagh fame.  Three times winner of the contest for humorous verse, Patsy's show, "He's not all there...but he's here", will be in the Tipsy Cow on Saturday night.  Hot buffet from 7pm with music by local singer-songwriter Matthew McGrath.  Show starting at 8pm with tickets for sale in McGreevys Spar, price £8.  Snap them up quick as seats are limited in this intimate venue.  Or call Martina on 075 4086 6986.

Sunday's highlight is the much-anticipated performance of Hilltown's own award-winning Matt McGinn and gifted fiddler Damien McGeehan.  Both take to the stage in Tory Bush Cottage's, Tullyree Road, Kilcoo, for a very special musical event, "Supper & Songs", from two artists at the peak of their powers.

Matt, a singer & songwriter, had his fifth and latest album release ‘Time Well Spent’ reach RTÉ Radio 1’s ‘Album of the Week’ at the beginning of the year .  Donegal’s Damien McGeehan is one of the most sought-after fiddle players in Ireland. His skills have taken him around the world several times, playing the biggest stages with world class artists.

Book your seat asap via the book no button.

Cost £12.

Bring your own bottle for the supper from 5pm, music starting at 6pm to 8pm.

A night not to be missed!
