Modern Calligraphy Workshop
Discover the art of modern calligraphy with our beginner's workshop.
This hands-on class will provide you with the techniques to start creating beautiful lettering that will elevate any project, from invitations to home decor.
Led by experienced calligrapher and engraver, Kate from Lettering by Kate, you'll learn thebasics of calligraphy, including how to hold and use a flexible pointed nib and ink, form letters, and connect them to create words and phrases. We will begin with an introduction to modern calligraphy techniques, some warmup strokes before practising letters and then moving on to some common words and styles. There will be full guidance throughout and we will be there to help you and answer any further questions you might have.
No experience necessary. All equipment will be provided for the lesson. Before you know it, you'll be creating greeting cards, party invitations, and artworks for your home and to give as gifts. If you have your own nibs, pen, workbooks etc. feel free to bring them along.
