As part of our International Walking Festival the Saint Patrick Centre invites you to join our talented guide Mike and discover the vast history of Downpatrick – for free!
Traverse the rich history of the Hill of Down from the Bronze Age to the present day, discovering the Age of Saint Patrick and the Middle Ages. Visit key sites of early Christian, Medieval and Post-Medieval heritage in Downpatrick including: the High Cross, the Cathedral Hill dig sites, Down County Museum, the Mound of Down, the site of the Nun's Gate, the Parish Church, Denvir's and English street.
Meet at the Medieval Down Cathedral at 13.50 to ensure prompt departure at 14.00.
Weather appropriate gear is recommended, practical footwear is essential.
