Join Patsy Forsythe, former nurseryman at Slieve Donard Nursery to hear the history and stories from his time working there. The nursery was formed in 1904 by Thomas James (Jim) Ryan, son of Castlewellan's famous gardener Thomas Ryan, as the Donard Nursery. During its 70 year history, Slieve Donard Nursery raised, introduced or named more than 250 plants and gained much fame.
Light refreshments provided.
This event is provided FREE through the "Re-rooting our past in our future" project that is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.
