A perfect getaway for the Irish Golf Open in September 2024.

Nestled in the quiet countryside of South Down, The Goat House Retreat offers an idyllic getaway. Set on a small holding, we have 5 rooms serving as self catering accommodation for 8 people. Rent out the barn accommodation (6 people) and add-on our Shepherd's Hut (2 people). 

We have a historic stone barn with a lounge and a separate fully fitted kitchen. We have a purpose-built yoga studio on site with a variety of classes through the week. 

Our barn accommodation unit offers stylish rooms with half barrel vaulted ceilings which create a spacious feel and blend modern industrial design with the cozy warmth of underfloor heating.

Add on our Shepherd's Hut (which sleeps 2 people) for a group booking of 8.

Bedrooms 4 & 5: THE HUT
This is our elegant, handcrafted 20ft shepherd's hut 
2 x double beds (in 2 separate rooms), hanging & storage

All bed linen & towels included.

The living/communal area is a restored stone barn which features original stonework and a stunning vaulted ceiling. There is wifi in this space (please note there is no wifi in the bedrooms).

There is a fully-equipped kitchen where you can whip up delicious meals to a spacious living area for unwinding, we have everything you need for a memorable stay.

To help you relax, we have a selection of books, boardgames and giant Jenga for you to play. Connect with nature in our outdoor areas, we have free-ranging chickens and goats on site. 

Perfect location if you are attending the Irish Open Golf Tournament in Newcastle County Down.

Set amid quite countryside, we are a short drive from restaurants, cafes, walks and tourist attractions:

Downpatrick (11 minutes)
Dundrum (12 minutes) 
Newcastle (19 minutes)
