About

Our comfortable accommodation has a living room and kitchenette with full-size sofa bed, bedroom with a double and single, and an ensuite with electric shower, toilet and wash basin.

Guests have the use of garden and patio area. The apartment adjoins our home but has a separate entrance and guests have their privacy.

There is ample parking and a garden safe for children as it is down a driveway away from the road.There is a TV with streamng service in both rooms .

The kitchenette has a toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge and freezer and coffee maker. Airfryer/Slow cooker is available on request.

A travel cot is available on request.

Located on the outskirts of the rural village of Kilcoo, we are a short 10-minute drive from Castlewellan Forest Park with it’s Mountain Bike trails, maze, kayaking on the lake, walks, castle and gardens. Newcastle and Murlough Nature Reserve are a 15 minute drive. Tollymore Park is 10 minute drive and we are a 15 minute drive to Spelga Dam Reservoir. There is a bar and restaurent within 1 mile (open Friday to Sunday). However a short drive to Castlewellan or Newcastle provides a choice of dining opportuniites.

Our accommmoadation is in a rural setting in a small village, 2 minutes drive to the local shop and 5 minutes walk to the bus stop and bus route to and from Newry, with stops at Mayobridge, Hilltown, Rathfriland, Kilcoo,Castlewellan, Newcastle, Dundrum,Clough and Downpatrick.

The property has breathtaking views of the countryside and overlooks Lough Island Reavy Reservoir which has amenity walks and beautiful views of the Mourne Mountains. There is also playpark in this area. 

This is an ideal base for hikers in the beautiful Mourne mountains. Trassey Car Park is less than 3 miles giving access to Tollymore Forest Park and to the Trassey Track, Hares Gap , Brandy Pad, Slieve Bernagh and Meelmore.

George Best (Belfast City) airport is a 55 minute drive (39 miles). Belfast International Airport is 1 hour drive (44 miles) and Dublin is 1 hour 30 minute drive (78 miles).

Our apartment is a 5 minute walk from bus stops from where the Translink 240 service from Newry to Downpatrick stops.

It is 42 miles, approximately a 1 hour drive from Belfast international Airport and 36 miles from George Best City Airport.

Dublin Airport is 1 hour 30 minute drive (80 miles).
