Welcome to The Lighthouse Cottage we are sure you will enjoy your stay in this newly built  3 bedroom house! Situated on the quiet side of Cranfield Beach just 50m away from the sea but still just 5 minutes walk to the caravan sites, shops, cafe and takeaways. It is a short drive to Kilkeel, 20 minutes to Warrenpoint or 30 minutes to Newcastle. 

Located just 1hr from Dublin and Belfast There are plenty of attractions nearby for all ages and the cottage is the perfect location to explore the Mourne mountains, enjoy local walking and cycling trails, play a round of golf or just spend the day at the beach, enjoying watersports, rockpooling, sea swimming and lazing on the sand. Why not finish your day with a glass of wine and a meal in the sun?    Or try one of the great cafes and restaurants nearby.

Cranfield Beach offers a gently sloping, mainly sandy beach located at the entrance to Carlingford Lough, an area designated as being of Special Scientific Interest. Set in an idyllic location at the mouth of Carlingford Lough in County Down, this south facing beach boasts the majestic Mourne Mountains as a backdrop. Facilities include parking, children's play area, toilets and showers. Lifeguard supervision July - August daily 11:00 - 18:00 and September weekends only.

The accommodation is suitable for couples, groups, families, or groups of friends looking for a beach location minutes away from all the area has to offer. The accommodation is all on the one level, allowing easy access for those less able. Whilst we do accept 2 small dogs or one large dog some simple rules apply. 

The Lighthouse Cottage is ideal for a family, couple or a group of friends visiting the East Coast. A perfect home for a relaxing coastal getaway or exploring this part of Co. Down.

Road Directions

From Newry: Follow the signs to Warrenpoint and Rostrevor. At the roundabout in Rostrevor take the first exit onto Shore Road A2. After 5.4miles turn right onto the Benagh Road. After 2.4 miles at the staggered crossroads, turn right onto the Greencastle Pier Road. After 1/2 mile turn left onto the Fair Road, drive to the bottom and turn left onto the lane. Continue along the shore until the very end. You will see 2 newly built cottages on the left. Number 56 is first on the left. Drive safely :)

From Kilkeel: Drive straight through town, Newcastle Street will lead onto Greencastle Street. Heading towards Cranfield drive 2.5 miles then turn right onto Lurganconary Road. Drive approximately 0.7 miles and at the at the staggered crossroads, turn left then right onto the Greencastle Pier Road. After 1/2 mile turn left onto the Fair Road, drive to the bottom and turn left onto the lane. Continue along the shore until the very end. You will see 2 newly built cottages on the left. Number 56 is first on the left. Enjoy the views of the Mournes.
