About
Do you live in the Newry, Mourne and Down Council area? Are you interested in getting involved behind the scenes in a new exhibition?
Down County Museum would love your help!
Working with major partners, including the British Museum, Down County Museum will be hosting a touring exhibition in 2024, linked to Sir Hans Sloane, who was born in Killyleagh.
The group will attend a series of workshops with museum professionals to explore objects and enhance the exhibition with a local flavour and personal stories.
To take part, you need to be able to attend workshops between August and the end of November 2023. A payment of £35 per session will be offered to anyone selected as a participant.
This taster session will introduce you to the exhibition's themes and aims, try out some activities, and let you see if the project is for you.
We would particularly welcome participants who are:
- new to the area
- new to the museum
- from a minority ethnic group
- interested in botany and other sciences
- interested in art, craft or design
- interested in creative writing
- curious!
The taster session will run on Wednesday, 21st June at 3:00, at Down County Museum.
