There’s something magical about Delamont Country Park. Located at 90 Downpatrick Rd, Killyleagh, Downpatrick, County Down BT30 9TZ, just thirty minutes from Belfast and an hour-and-a-half from Dublin, it’s an oasis of serenity and calm. Of course, given its beauty and allure there’s always plenty to see all around, but you really get the sense of being at one with the natural surroundings. Like we say, it’s magical.

What at the opening hours of Delamont Country Park?
Delamont Country Park opening hours are:
- March and October 9am - 6pm
- April and September 9am - 8pm
- May to August 9am - 9pm
- November to February 9am - 5pm.
The Park is closed on Christmas Day.
Is there a car parking charge at Delamont Country Park?

Delamont Country Park Visitor Information building
Self-guided visitor information (including maps) is available at the Amenity Block (to the left of the play park). The Amenity Block also has toilets (including accessible toilets) and a drinking fountain.
Adventure Play Park at Delamont Country Park
Children of all ages can enjoy our adventure play park with exciting ZIP line, slides and climbing structures. For adults we also have gym equipment spaced out around our walking trails.
Strangford Lough
That’s probably something to do with the park’s vast two-hundred-acre expanse or maybe its proximity to the tranquil shores of Strangford Lough. You’ll catch glimpses of the Lough from every corner of the park, even as you make your way through the forest trails and tracks that are so popular with both local and visiting walkers. It really is a treasure trove of walks. Whether you’re looking for a leisurely stroll or something more testing, there’s something perfect for you.
Strangford Stone
Back on dry land you’ll have the Strangford Stone as your constant companion. Ireland’s tallest megalith, erected as a beacon of hope, is an impressive site from anywhere in the park and a reminder of the area’s rich heritage.
Delamont Miniature Railway
There’s plenty to keep the little ones happy as well, none more so than Ireland’s longest miniature rail track. Delamont Miniature Railway is quite special. They’re sure to want more than a few trips on that and you’ll be more than welcome to join them.

Delamont Country Park - Coffee Kiosk
The Steamers Coffee Kiosk is located at the start of the Miniature Railway (to the right hand side of the play park). As well as hot drinks there’s also ice cream and plenty of other treats in store for adults and kids alike.

Strangford Lough Canoe Trail
The Lough itself provides lovers of water sports plenty to do. The Strangford Lough Canoe Trail has eighty square nautical miles of majestic waters to explore. As you make your way around the islets and skerries, you'll have both the local fauna and the wonderful silence for company.
Room Hire for events and meetings at Delamont Country Park
The Heron's Nest (located within the Walled Garden) offer fantastic facilities for small events and meetings. The building has catering facilities as well as an adjoining area with picnic facilities. How do I get to Delamont Country Park from Belfast and Dublin?
Directions to Delamont Country Park - from Belfast follow the A1 to Ormeau Road/A24. Follow the A24 and A7 to Killyleagh Street in Crossgar. Continue on Killyleagh Street to Killyleagh. Follow Downpatrick Road to Delamont Country Park. Delamont Country Park is located on the left. From Dublin continue on M1. Take A1 to Lower Quilly Road, Dromore. Follow B2 to Church Street/A24 in Ballynahinch. At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Church Street A24. Turn left onto Downpatrick Road/B2. Turn right onto Belfast Road/A7. Follow Finnebrogue Road and A22 to Delamont Country Park. The entrance is on the right.
Are Dogs allowed in Delamont Country Park?
Yes. Dogs are allowed in Delamont Country Park but must be kept on a lead at all times. There is a dog exercise field where leads are not required. Dogs are not permitted in the Children's Play Park.
